Have you ever wanted to reach the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro with the African sunrise? Join a fun 5km colour-run in your local park? Cycle to Paris with hundreds of other triumphant athletes? Trek through Scottish glens or run through traffic-free London streets? There are a wealth of brilliant challenge events out there and you could make it all worthwhile by doing it for charity – if you have a dream or an idea just speak to us at Footsteps Foundation and we can help tailor-make a fundraising experience of a lifetime for individuals and groups.
A good starting point for you is to take a look at the variety of events for which we can offer places to a limited number of people.
The majority of children we support at Footsteps are often unable to participate in walks and runs, simply because they do not have the independent physical ability to do so.
We often take walking and running for granted so what better way of giving something back to those who aren’t so lucky, than by using your legs to help disabled children access intensive physiotherapy. Together we can fund a footstep and help begin a journey.
For those thrill-seekers looking for something extra to motivate them, we have teamed up with Action Challenge, who are offering some exceptional 100km events over the course of 2017
Grand Union Challenge
Thames Path Challenge
Isle of White Challenge
These walks or ultra-marathons now represent some of the UK’s greatest endurance events. However, with the different speed/distance options they are truly flexible and accessible to all. 100km, 50km or 25k: most will walk, some will jog it, and others will run it as an ultra-marathon. However you take it on, it’s a test of determination and stamina. It’s real, no gimmicks, no contrived obstacles, and is achievable. It could be the most rewarding experience of your life!
