We would be delighted to hear from any family who would like to apply for a grant towards their therapy at Footsteps. Download the application form and notes here: Family Grant Application Form 2020
If it is your first time applying for assistance from the charity, you are welcome to call and chat to the team at Footsteps Foundation and discuss our criteria on: 01865343851
In order to apply for a grant, you must first book your child onto a session at Footsteps and then fill in the form and provide details of your income. We will then contact you shortly, to let you know how much of the costs we can cover.
With the exception of last minute bookings, all grant applications should be received at least two months prior to your first booked session of the year. Otherwise, the Trustees may not be able to consider your application.
In order to be able to assist Footsteps children, we need to raise £250,000 each year, and we often have to provide feedback to our benefactors. Therefore, a condition of receiving a grant is that you are expected to provide us with feedback in the form of a case study about your child’s progress.
The Helping Hand Project
Helping Hand Project – if you are struggling with costs even after receiving a Family Grant to help pay for therapy (or if you are not entitled to a grant but find yourself in exceptional circumstances) we may be able to help. The Helping Hand Grants Project has been set up to help with help with travel costs, accommodation or unexpected circumstances. Please speak to Maggie or Sarah in the office in the first instance if you feel that extra help is needed.
Further info The Helping Hand Project was set up in response to concerns that families were struggling with the additional costs of bringing their children to Footsteps. We are especially aware that those travelling very long distances may have a large fuel bill or accommodation costs in addition to therapy costs and this may make it difficult to attend. This trial was made possible by a generous one-off donation and will run for one year, or until the funding runs out, whichever is sooner.
T&Cs: Grant families may apply for support with either fuel or accommodation and must apply for this separately for each session as required. Receipts must be provided, or no support will be given. The grant will only be given for reasonably-priced accommodation. The Helping Hand Project can give a maximum of £500 per 3-week session and £2,000 per family per year. Non-grant families are welcome to apply but only in exceptional circumstances where an unforeseen shortfall will mean their child cannot attend a session already booked.
