School children learn about the Spider

The children at Stadhampton Primary School donated money raised from the ticket sales of their Christmas performances last week. They chose to support Footsteps Foundation because they wanted to help make a difference to the lives of the children who come to the Footsteps Centre.

Clare was invited to talk to the children about Footsteps during their assembly and they were particularly interested in hearing about the Spider and seeing lots of photos. The children raised a total of £420 through their Christmas performances; their donation will help children with neurological disorders to reach their full potential by contributing towards the cost of the Footsteps therapy programme.

The Footsteps team would like to thank all of the staff, parents and children at Stadhampton Primary School for all of their hard work.

Committee coffee morning

Footsteps Foundation’s fundraising committee organised a coffee morning at The Red Lion pub in Chalgrove on 26 October. Lots of home-made cakes were donated and guests had plenty to choose from. Committee member Jenny also held a cake sale at work and the two events together raised a total of £466 for Footsteps. Thank you to everyone involved in making it a success.

Footsteps Filmstars!

It’s been a busy week at the Footsteps Centre! We have just finished filming for our first professional film which documents the lives of Footsteps families and shows how the Footsteps therapy programme continues to make a positive difference to the lives of many children.

Thank you to all those who have contributed to the project and a special thanks to Tracy Christie for volunteering her time and expertise to the project.

We are very excited to see the finished product at the end of the year! And if that’s not enough, we will soon be working with a group of students from Oxford Brookes University who will also be producing a short film for Footsteps. Watch this space!

Lions hear footsteps

The Goring & District Lions Club invited our Fundraiser Clare to attend a dinner evening on Monday 8th October. After a superbe meal, she was given the opportunity to talk about Footsteps and the difference we can make to families with disabled children. She walked away with a generous donation of £1,500 from the Club which will fund a three week therapy session for a local child and also contribute towards the Equipment Bank Project. Thank you to all of the Lions for their contribution to Footsteps Foundation!
